Biographie
Sa vie privée, très exposée, alimente régulièrement la presse : mariages tumultueux, difficultés financières, relations complexes avec ses conjoints. Elle épouse successivement Dennis Hamilton, puis l’acteur Richard Dawson, et enfin Alan Lake, avec qui elle partage une relation passionnée mais tourmentée. Elle est également mère de trois enfants. Dans les années 1970 et 1980, elle se réinvente en personnalité télévisuelle, apparaissant dans des talk-shows et des séries, tout en cultivant une image plus mature et chaleureuse. Malgré des problèmes de santé, elle continue de travailler jusqu’à la fin de sa vie.
Diana Dors meurt le 4 mai 1984 à Windsor, à l’âge de 52 ans, des suites d’un cancer. Elle laisse derrière elle une image durable : celle d’une icône glamour, mais aussi d’une femme ambitieuse, courageuse et dotée d’un réel talent, trop souvent éclipsé par son personnage public.
