Après avoir échoué à l'examen d'entrée à l'université et avoir été abandonné par sa petite amie, Yuki Hirano décide de rejoindre un programme de formation forestière en voyant la photographie d'une jeune femme sur un prospectus promotionel. Il découvre que le travail est beaucoup plus difficile qu'il ne s'y attendait sous les ordres de son patron qui est très exigeant. Beaucoup d'apprentis abandonnent mais il continue et reste tout ce temps à la recherche de la jeune femme du prospectus.
